How will Jesus come?
- He will come in person and in visible form (Acts 1: 11; Matthew 24: 27)
- every eye will see Him (Revelation 1:7)
- Christ will be accompanied by Angels (Matthew 25: 31).
What do people have to do with the second coming?
Among believers, you can find a different attitude to the Second Coming of Christ. Some are afraid and even scared, and some are looking forward to it. The Bible says that Jesus will be greeted by people with opposite emotions:
- the wicked will despair (Revelation 6: 15-17)
- the righteous will rejoice (Psalm 95: 12, 13; Isaiah 25: 8, 9)
Although the Second Coming is an event of the future, even today sincere believers should prepare for it (Matthew 24:42; 25:13; 2 Peter 3:10-14; 1 Thessalonians 5: 2-6).
Is there a pleasant expectation for a new life?
The Second Coming of Christ is a central part of the Bible teaching. Most prophets of the Old Testament wrote about the end of the world, the Great Judgment, and the coming of Christ, when good deeds would be rewarded and evil ones punished.
In the New Testament, the theme of the end of the world occupies an important place in the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. The last book of the Bible, Revelation, ends with the heartfelt words: "He who bears witness to these things says: Lo, I am coming soon! Amen to that. Come, O Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22: 20).
Therefore, today all Christian churches should preach to their believers about the inevitable return of Jesus to earth. Among the early Christians, the greeting and farewell "Maranatha" – "Come, Lord!" - was common (1 Corinthians 6: 22).
