The Holy Scriptures recommend complete abstinence from alcoholic beverages (Proverbs 23: 31-33; 31:4; 1 Corinthians 15:34; 1 Peter 5: 8).

Tobacco was not known in biblical times on the Eurasian continent, so it is not directly prohibited in the Bible. However, the Bible teaches you to preserve your health, not to destroy it. Each cigarette contains about 35 toxic substances, the most famous of which are nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, prussic acid and others. Because of this, a smoker destroys himself, as well as the health of people who are close to him and are forced to inhale the poison.
Doctors warn about the dangers of smoking and alcohol, giving clear statistics on early diseases and mortality.
Therefore, anyone who is dedicated to God should abstain from alcohol and smoking (2 Timothy 2: 21), first, because our body is the temple of the Living God (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20) and everything we do should praise Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 10: 31), and second, the use of alcohol or tobacco, as they have a detrimental effect on the health of a person and those around him, is a violation of the sixth commandment: "thou shalt not kill" (Exodus 20: 13). Today, there are many slaves of appetite and bad habits in the world. Sometimes it is very difficult for a person to part with them. But God can strengthen his will and give him complete victory (John 8: 36).
