Food
The latest discoveries of modern medicine confirm what God has long revealed in His Word – the Bible. A person needs to build their diet with a predominance of vegetables, fruits, legumes and cereals and minimize the use of animal products for food.
- According to the Holy Scriptures, God did not originally intend meat for food. Man was given vegetable food (Genesis 1: 29).
- Only after the flood were people allowed to eat meat (Genesis 9: 3) to shorten their lifespan.
- At the same time, the Lord gave a number of restrictions on the consumption of animal food. God forbade the use of blood and fat in meat (Leviticus 17:13, 14; Acts 15: 28, 29).
- God also indicated what kind of meat should not be eaten, since it is not suitable for human nutrition. We find these instructions in Leviticus in chapter 11. It contains the following requirements:
- you can eat the meat of animals that chew the cud and have cloven hooves. If at least one of these characteristics is missing, such meat is not suitable for food.
- Fish that have fins and scales are the only ones permitted.
- Predatory birds and animals are not permitted.
- All food should be eaten in moderation. The Bible is against gluttony.
It is important to note that scientific research confirms the wisdom of all these Divine commands.
