Is it easy to be a new creation?
How many times each of us, trying to follow Christ, did not do what he should have done. Many of us tried our best to do everything right, but it turned out the other way around. Why do sometimes good intentions lead us to hell; turning into evil deeds? Because we tried to cope with our problems on our own, without resorting to God's help. Carnal and sinful by nature, we are subject to the passions and habits that we acquired before we learned about God's plan of salvation. Jesus said, " The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak." This is also what the Apostle Paul says in his epistles, read Romans 7: 15-19.
In the same chapter, in verse 14, he explains the reason for such tendencies. But then Paul's heart is filled with gratitude because he knows Someone who can help him deal with his sinful nature (Romans 7:24-25; Romans 8:2). Only by placing our lives in the hands of Christ can we overcome our sins. Only through Him can we become victors and live the life of a Christian. Acts 3: 19 says, " Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be made atonement." This verse tells us that we must repent and be converted. The word "convert" means " change."
Our carnal nature must become spiritual. But without Christ, our hearts cannot change. We will never defeat the devil by our own efforts. We need to repent and regret our sins. And then God will make a change in us, which is called conversion. Most likely, God will allow trials and difficulties in your life, but if you trust Him, He will transform you and make you a new creation, giving you a life full of His miracles and blessings (1 Peter 4:12, 13; James 1:2-5; Hebrews 12:1-12; 1 Corinthians 10: 13).
How common is this, for example, a misconception: "When I can get rid of such and such a bad habit, then I will become a Christian." But it's like saying, " When I'm healthy, then I'll go to the doctor and let him help me." So when should we come to the Lord for help? This is easy to determine; when we feel that we are not well, when we feel the need for healing. Give Him your heart today, and your soul will find joy and harmony. You will become a new creation in Christ.
You can drop to your knees in front of Him right now. Let Him take charge of your life. If you do not know how to approach Christ, repeat these words as a sincere desire of your heart:"".
