If the Qur’an had come to replace the Bible because it was corrupted, then the Qur’an would not allow the People of the Book to “judge by what Allah revealed to them” any more. This indicates that thousands of copies of the Tawrat, Zabur, and Injeel (Bible) were available when the Qur’an was revealed in the seventh century, and still accurately portrayed Allah’s message since Allah says that the People of the Gospel (Christians) were to be judged by them. The above verse clearly shows that if the People of the Gospel do not follow what is in their Scriptures then they are those who rebel. Even after the Qur’an was revealed, it affirms in its pages that the Bible is valid and should still continue to be used as the authentic Word of Allah.

Say: “Oh People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your Lord.” It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow thou not over (these) people without Faith.
